Speaking of all this "LordM To England" stuff, check it out- I just found my passport!

(OK, sorry for the OT post. I'll let the subject rest for a little while, or at least not post any new threads about it.)

PS- I just got a discreet warning PM from Above. I had a hunch I was beginning to skate on thin ice, so it's time to straighten up and fly right. Candidly, I must say, I prefer the the discreet PM warning style better than sudden and mysteriously-disappearing nuked threads.

And so now I shall cease and desist with the OT stuff, and I kneel in submission and beg the forum's forgiveness.

Besides, I'm preparing a coin post that's gonna knock yer sox off, I hope.

A dig buddy of mine showed up at my door just this morning with a recently-unearthed early US coin from site near here.

It must have been shiny and new when it hit the dirt two centuries ago. Stay tuned. UPDATE- here 'tis.

Good to know. Glad my parents kept it. Thanks.
Probably gonna need a new photo, though- ya think? image (Even my avatar picture you see here is out of date, being from 2004.)

    << <i>Tanzania? Bahamas? >>

My parents were Baha'i Pioneers to Tanzania. Sort of like missionaries, I guess, only Baha'i Pioneers must be self-supporting. Dad taught English in a Greek Orthodox school in Arusha. In '75, after my parents' divorce, I lived aboard a 40-foot trimaran with my Mom, my stepfather, and my sister. We island-hopped: Nassau, Bimini, Andros, and some of the small out of the way ones. Sounds dreamy to some of you, perhaps, and I loved it, but being part of a family of four living on brown rice and bean sprouts aboard an undersized boat in out of the way places is not exactly luxury. Sure was beautiful, though.

Horizontally striped shirts were de rigeur in the 1970s. And earlier, probably. Look at Charlie Brown, though his had zigzag stripes. I clearly remember one I loved in 1978, which had thicker horizontal blue and orange stripes and the little alligator on it.

Ha! I sure did. Mom kept it, unknownst to me, and gave it to my son some years ago.....he wore it when he was 4-5 years old....and outgrew it by the time he was 6...whereas I was still wearing it past 6 image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
