Guess why I'm posting this non-coin related eBay link.

I'm not purchasing this eBay item, but I locally bought one just like it.
It had to be Dobbs brand, because it was at Grandmother Dobbs' house that I found the coin which launched my numismatic career (On Thanksgiving Day of 1976, I found a 1936 Mercury dime in the silverware drawer when I was setting the table.)
So guess why I had to have an antique Dobbs brand hatbox.
I'll give you a hint, if you're really slow on the uptake.
Y'know, speaking of that 1936 dime, which I still have, and which is not a holey, I think I'm gonna mount it in a dime bezel (got one handy) and put it on my hat. Even though it isn't gold or pre-1900 or holed, like the rest of what's on there. As a sentimental childhood favorite, it needs pride of place, I think. Besides, the hatbox probably dates to the same era as the dime. I just wish I could find a metal Dobbs box. I don't know if they made 'em, though.
