Newps from the Bellaire Coin Show in Houston

Adding a bit to my Mexican stack. Got there at 1pm on Sunday and half the dealers had already packed up their inventory.

    Nice additions.

Got there at 1pm on Sunday and half the dealers had already packed up their inventory.

Or what's even worse is the dealer can't even talk to you because he's stuffing his face. Who the hell eats at a coin show, during the show? Always amazes me how many do and I wonder if they realize how unprofessional that is. I don't even bother with them any more, just walk on by.

Mayhaps a good thing to spend some time sitting a booth for a weekend, a little reality check. Need to eat but don't want to miss a possible sale...what'cha gonna do. Got some idiots coming by asking what the shoe box of mint sets and a handful of circ Ikes they slam on your table are worth and then they act like you're a demon because you tell them, what'cha gonna do? Got some wise guy coming by to try and beat your ask back $20 and hammer you till you run them off or give in while there are three other customers waiting to talk to you, what'cha gonna do. Got some vestpocket guy trying to get pcgs price guide money and change for a holdered (62) early 1900 lib $5, what'cha gonna do? And then, after two days of this drill, the guy comes by, wants some AGE's and those tubes of '96 ase's you picked up last weekend, and is playing with the holdered saints you been hauling around for two months, and he's got cash...yeah baby!

The Bellaire coin show is a good local show. Spent and bought there many times, always a nice low key show. Missed it this year because got no buks and nothing I want to trade and nothing to sell. Nice pick up on the Pesos...

I've done tables at local shows, but I never felt the urge to have to eat during the show. Guess it's just me.
I totally hear ya about the whack jobs who think you must not know anything eventhough I'm the one behind the table LOL.
I guess it's all part of the coin show experience and how much one is willing to deal with to eventually make a nice score.
