1971 Topps Greatest Moments print run question

Does anyone have any idea how many cards Topps produced for the 1971 Topps Greatest Moments issue?

I found a thread on Net 54 from 2010 where someone guessed 455 each of the single prints and 1820 each of the double prints. Those numbers seem awfully low and I don't know why the double prints would not be twice the amount as the single prints.

Could double the double be the meaning of double print...455 x 2 = 910 x2 = 1820?

Check out this article. Although it refers to the '52 and '53 printing runs, it mentions some cards being "Quadruple" printed. Possibly the same thing happened to the issue in question but people still refer to the cards that were printed in greater quantity as "Double Prints".

Seems a little low. There are 171 Pete Rose's graded to date. That would mean almost 10% of the original production survived and has been submitted for grading.

Thanks for the replies. I find those print numbers quoted to be really low but there is not a lot of information about this set out there. Regarding single vs double prints: I did find this link from an auction of uncut sheets but it looks to me like one each of the 55 cards on 2 total sheets. Maybe one sheet was printed in larger numbers than the other?
