Ebay seller has 500 replicas for sale.....

Looks like the Chinese seller is trying to unload his coins just before the Ebay ban of replica selling goes into effect starting Feb 20th.

    Interesting. Let's make this an educational session. Aside from "COPY", what are some of the diagnostics that we could look at to identify it as a fake? Without having in depth knowledge of counterfeits or the Morgan series, I'd have to say it looks pretty good. My only reservations are:

    1. The dot between "E" and "Pluribus" looks off
    2. The date is kind of weird. Is the 1 and 9 supposed to be slanted like that?
    3. OF in America looks odd.

    But really, if I didn't know it was a copy, I would be fooled. image

    I took a quick look at about a dozen or so that he has listed.
    I do not see even 1 that I would put as a hole-filler in an album which, to me, is something I am ok with doing.
    If I buy my keys in slabs but I like my albums, then I don't have an issue with a replica in the hole to keep continuity.

    None o fthe ones I looked at even looked ok for that purpose.

    I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    didn't ebay ban ALL replicas?

    On a similar note, ive seen a seller selling raw Proof Seated dimes for monster
    asking price that look fake to me - has anyone else seen those on ebay?
    One tip off is the coins look too good and the seller has multipul dates that
    all have the same basic look (fake).

    Banning doesn't take effect on Ebay till Feb 20th.
