If I get a nicely graded card I have no interest in taking it away from my home. Taking it to work just creates an opportunity for something bad to happen.

Basically word for word what I was gonna say!
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • Coo Coo....

    Kidding.

I used to leave my office all the time, go to the local card store. On my way back my office manager would always look at me funny as I carried a bag of goodies. She would always ask what it was, I would say just some stuff.

I'd walk in my office and shut the door.... Lol. Good times!!!

  • I'm about as much of a baseball card geek as there is, but I can honestly say I have never done that.

I've done it with coins because of the effect natural sunlight has on the surfaces but not cards...yet.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

I've done it with coins too. Canadian gold maples really sparkle on a bright sunny day.
Believe it or not, certain card issues sparkle in the natural light as well.
  • I admit, I have taken a few graded Mantles to a cheap motel during the lunch hour. I'm not necessarily proud of that...

Hell to the yes, I have done it more than once. image

Part of the reason, though, is that I don't keep any of my cards
at home. When a brand new card arrives, I'll keep it for a few
days before putting it in the safety deposit box. I won't look at
it while driving, but I will bring it to work. Yes, I am a card geek.

No, but I've opened my PSA package WHILE driving from the post office... with a very sharp pocket knife... on multiple occasions. We all know those things are wrapped tighter than a... well, they're wrapped tight anyway.
