I know it's a bit above VCP, but this is one fine example. Plus this card in this grade doesn't come up very often. I think we will all agree cards are starting to get better realized prices again.

I like the fact that there were quite a few bids above $5k and there were not just two people drastically above the rest of the pack.

I have been in those two person pops and clearly those are not the type of auctions you generally have a chance to make any money on.

and when you get it in hand, see if its a candidate for a bump, as it's an old flip.

I was thinking about a .5 bump, we'll see. I'll post it and let everyone else be the judge.

I know the centering is certainly not perfect, hard to tell what percentage it's at. I'm sure if it had a chance it would already be in a 8.5.

Not worried, not the reason for the purchase. I think an iconic card like this will be great to pass down to my kids.

I've never used the term honestly, but I changed it to "My new Harpooned White Whale", that works right?

I've been wanting a mid grade Mantle, but nothing has come up that I like. There was one the other day, but it was a 3 day auction. I got outbid by a freakin $100!!!

But I have really been wanting a PSA 10 Jordan RC. Been in talks with a guy back and forth, but $8,500 to me isn't worth it. I talked about it with Dave a bit, and with the Clemente I can still buy anther PSA 9 Jordan and have money left over...

Your kids are gonna have a sick collection once they're older and realize all the stuff dad got them. Amazing Purchase! Definitely a great investment.
