Error or Damage?
I don't have calipers or a scale, but if I hold it up next to a dime, it appears to be the exact same size. It has a very thin rim on the reverse and no rim at all on the obverse. I came across it at work. We have a coin counter, and it sorted this into a dime bag (umm, I mean a bag full of dimes
).
Excuse my crappy cell phone pics.

the last penny the size of a dime thread had people saying "ground off on sidewalk, etc." and the like for the reason just above: fool vending machines.

Bingo. I have a couple that are more crudely done.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
