Like Kirk I too took the plunge and forked over a ridiculous amount to get Hank Aaron. I told myself I would never do anything with Steiner, but they were my only option in getting Mr. Aaron.

    Just curious what they charge. I think I paid about $100 to get a ball signed when he did a show in SF 7-8 years ago.

    $160 + $10 return shipping via UPS. If you want an inscriptions, its an additionally $150 and Hank will only sign HOF, 715 and 3771. Those prices are also special SCN pricing that was offered. He is doing a signing at the Steiner Sports store in February and flats are $225 and inscriptions $175.

    Wow, I'm glad I got his sig when I did. I assume balls are even more. I got to meet him as well for my $100.

    Boy how times have changed! In the late 70s and early 80s Sports Collectors Digest published the addresses of most of the living Hall of Famers and I sent Mr. Aaron a nice letter (nice for a 10yo I suppose) a SASE and an index card and a month or so later, I got it back in the mail signed. Of course for all I know, his kid signed it but it definitely looks right. I did the same for Joe DiMaggio, Duke Snider, and a few others with equal success.

    I guess I'm sounding old...."In my day, we walked a mile through 6ft of snow to get to the mailbox so I could send my autograph request.... and it was free!..... and we *liked* it that way!"

    What was the grade on that before you cracked it?

    Authentic Altered. There is a crease on the lower right side of the card that someone felt needed to be pressed out.

    I just want the card in an Authentic holder, so the grade doesn't matter to me. It's got great eye appeal, which is what I was looking for.

    Perfect card to get signed. Has great eye appeal. I thought it was an easy PSA 7.

    I think long term you just can't go wrong with getting a nice Hank Aaron rookie signed.
