$615 and Counting for 1969 Earl Weaver RC!

A VCP subscription would be beneficial to some bidders. $201 is the previous high for a PSA 9. If anybody wants the PSA 9 from my set, I'll happily offer it for $500 delivered.

I wish it were my auction. I've had my set in various state of upgrades for 30 years. But every collector has his price. If someone wants to pay 5x+ VCP average for any of my cards, I think few would be untouchable.

Oh! Haha...sorry I thought I read that to be yours! Great cards in some of those lots, though! That PSA 9 Robinson that they have (though not bad) is a little OC (L to R) for my taste, though.

I think you forgot that VCP is the Bible. The VCP average is what it is worth and any amount over that the buyer is over paying. LOL
good luck

i had to go back and check my old subs and verified the sale of the one and still only PSA 10 '69 Weaver rookie.
sold June 4, 2005 for $554, a hefty price at the time, but it looks like whomever has it now has themselves a lottery ticket.
i'd also be willing to bet that anyone who knows the Pop report would go balls out for a 9 which looks like it has a shot at a bump.
<< <i>How exactly would VCP benefit these buyers? The last PSA 9 sold a year ago. Are they supposed to stop bidding at the VCP high or average price and let somebody else win a card they've been trying to find. Should they wait a year or two for the next one to pop up and hope nobody runs it over what VCP looker uppers think the card should go for. >>
This card is not difficult at all. It has a pop of 51. If it was a pop 10, I would understand the chase. One hasn't sold on eBay for a year because the new eBay model discourages auction style listings for cards. I used to see this card listed all the time on eBay prior to the last few years. Unless there's a set break, you usually only find high price BINs. The mistake buyers are making these days is relying on eBay as the sole channel to buy through. The card hasn't become scarcer. It's only become scarcer on eBay.

<< <i>The high % of all the bidders with just 1 seller looks fishy to me but who knows? >>
I Don't suspect that. I've been lowballing several of the higher pop 9s that he's listed. I've only won a handful but I have won a few and below my max bid in some cases. Had there been some Curt Schilling going on, I wouldn't have won them below my max.

The seller, Steve novella, has been around for a while and has a pretty solid reputation. Good idea to check for shills but with Steve as the seller I would think it to be coincidental
