1889 quarter?

I think the seller might be seeing things. Looks like an 1888 to me, most likely an "S." Hard to tell because the diagnostics in that kind of grade aren't much different.

Hard to say from that lousy picture. Maybe ask the seller to post a close-up image?

seller is the one that needs glasses, the upper "loop" of the 9 is the same size as the uppr loop in the 8 next to it, if it was a 9 the loop would be larger

It was listed as a 24 hour auction I believe. Possibly trying to pull one over on someone before it gets reported, or ebay catches the auction. Maybe it's an honest mistake, but there seems to be a lot of "honest mistakes" on ebay nowadays!

everyone i have ever known has made at least one honest mistake in thier lifetime, being that there is a seven day return, i believe this was a case of the seller being overly optimistic, rather than trying to pull one over on anyone, or maybe i just prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt.

A 7 day return policy don't mean squat when someone is trying to con someone else. I'm not saying the seller is, but some people can be overly trusting because of the warmth they feel when they see a return policy.

"warmth" should be accompanied by research. no return policy should replace knowing what one is buying.
