,,,,,,,surfing across CRO's site and came across this. Man is it cool IMHO! Just sayin'.

Middlesex-Political D&H-239 variety, Plain Edge.
One of the most striking designs in the Conder (or any other) series, and rich in symbolism too.
This is a half dollar-sized copper piece bearing an alarming obverse portrait of an apparently very large man in a tight-fitting hat adorned with the devil and the word POSSESSION shoving the entire earth into his mouth (in a scene reminiscent of lunch in the dealer break room at any coin show).
With the poignant obverse legend THE UNCHARITABLE MONOPOLIZER WILL STARVE THE POOR, and TAKE NOT WHAT WAS MEANT FOR ALL.
The reverse, on the other hand, presents the upbeat image of a hand distributing (unslabbed) coins surrounded by THE CHARITABLE HAND and COME ALL YE DISTRESSED.
The piece itself is quite stunning, with deeply proof-like surfaces and a look that suggests PF65 more than MS64 to us.

It doesn't have that computer aided design sterile look to it like some of its modern couterparts.

If I'm not mistaken there was a silver one that came to auction last year, perhaps white metal
but I think silver. I stopped bidding because it started going out of my safety zone
I did see it at the show, it was very nice looking! Perhaps a little darker in hand
Or it was bad lighting on the bourse floor.
