What's the best way to sell mid-grade vintage BB card sets from 1950-60s?

Other than offering for sale on this board, what is the best way to sell mid-grade vintage BB card sets from the 1950-60s? As a complete set or break into individual cards and list? Also,

1) Consign to eBay seller like probstein or PWCC to sell as complete sets?

2) Consign to auction house to sell as complete sets?

3) Consign to someone like gregmorriscards or klinger83 to break sets and sell cards individually on eBay?

4) List complete sets yourself on eBay as BIN or for bid?

  • How 'mid-grade' are we talking? (4-5) mid grade, or (6-7) mid grade?

If the former, my choice would be option 1.
If the latter, my choice would be option 3.

Do a set break on Ebay.

It's work, but you get all the dough.

    Good for you.

Thanks for the input so far. By mid-grade, I'm saying around grades 4-6.

I would not suggest "bulking" them if you want to max what you get out of them.

If any set tends more to the 4ish than the 6ish, then you would probably be better offering it as a complete set and saving the work of a card-by-card break. For
sets that are more toward the 6ish side a break makes more sense.

If you have some of the stars in better shape, by grading them you can enhance the full sets a little. Just be truthful about the rest of the sets.

    Good luck

Best option in my opinion is A or sell it yourself if you can prepare a thorough description of the set with scans of both better and worse. In my past experience I have chosen A a couple times because he does a nice job of presenting your cards.Other times I have done it on my own using the bid auction
    or BEST OFFER.

  • I was actually going to suggest selling it yourself yesterday but never made the post...

But yeah, if the sets are of significant value (few k+ each) then I would break them yourself.
