Suggestion for a purchase from BBCE?

Hi all - My son and I have had some fun buying a few random vintage packs (late 70's topps) but we'd kind of like to dip our toes into a box. Looking at all the various boxes at BBCE makes my head spin! Any suggestions for something in the $50-$100 range there that could be fun and yield some nice cards potentially? We're only looking at baseball.
But as I said, going through it... what makes the 2004 Bowman Chrome different/better than the 2002 Topps Chrome, or all the other options out there.
If anyone had a few suggestions I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Frank

<< <i>I've been considering getting a box of 2004 Donruss wax from BBCE. At $200, it's a good bit more than you may be looking to spend. I always liked the '84 Donruss set & I'm sure that would be a fun box to open. >>
Yes that's too much for us. He saves up most of his money for 50's and 60's (and early 70's) hall of famers.... so this would be just as something fun.
He also collects current year Topps, he's done that for a few years. He has fun with it.
But for this, we're just looking for something kind of fun to do that won't cost too too much.

Ok, we might check that out. But we're really only interested in baseball, and kind of wanted to buy a box of something rather than just a pack or two.
I was just wondering if there was any value or nice cards to chase in any of the more recent, affordable boxes they have.
