Just picked up my 1st 1971 Topps card

I think this is a sweet Aaron. Id say PSA 8 worthy.
Lately Ive been inspired by the vintage stuff going on here and I want in. Not nearly as cool as the stuff you guys have but little by little I"ll get there.

'71s are VERY tough to grade well
WTB: PSA 1 - PSA 3 Centered, High Eye Appeal 1950's Mantle
I definitely believe that with certain players cards

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I would subtract Rose and add Ted Williams to your sure things list.
Nice Aaron card that will probably come back a PSA 7 on a good day. You gotta love Hank, 755 HR's and a class act all the way.
I'm with the majority on this one. PSA is notoriously hard on 1971s, so your lower left corner is going to get some extra scrutiny.
Lower right and upper left will also probably be considered more than just "slight touch" wear.
Likely that you'll see a PSA 7 +/- 0.5, but let's hope for better.

<< <i>Scans make 71's look worse than they actually are in hand..... >>
...PSA Flips say that the 71s they encase are worse than they are relative to the grading "standards" (they are just very tough on them)

And all of your are correct about the PSA 7 most likely. I was checking them out an eBay and this does look like it would be a 7 - I was looking at the 8's and those things look minty fresh straight out of packs.
And yup, I forget about Ted Williams. Maybe Ill start a thread soon to see who everyone's "sure thing" is...
This Hank came back as an 8
The Ryan came back as a 7 - I didn't think the Ryan would be an 8.
Overall I'm very happy about the Hank
Congratulations on both the Aaron and the Ryan results.
Currently collecting 1934 Butterfinger, 1969 Nabisco, 1991 Topps Desert Shield (in PSA 9 or 10), and 1990 Donruss Learning Series (in PSA 10).

Cause we all know Pete Rose cards never sell. lol
Wait, didn't someone just pay $160,000 for a PSA 10 Rose rookie?
