Off to PSA...thoughts?...UPDATED scan of the '54 Mantle, not trimmed..TOO BIG

Sending in on membership voucher. Picked up the '54 Mantle, '59 Covington hig series, and '63Farily (tuff) at a show this weekend. The Ryan rookie came back N8:miscut last time I submitted it. Thoughts on grades?

The bottom of that '54 Mantle isn't square, might want to check that out. Make sure the Ryan measures up too.

I squared up and cropped the two cards that looked odd to me, maybe this will help.

See the bottom of the Mantle? With all edges straight, the bottom looks off.





With the Ryan, the top edge looks bowed like it may have been trimmed. May be too small to notice in-person.

Looks to me like an issue of curved cards not being flattened while scanning (all except the first mantle, that just looks weird.

With the Ryan, that could very well be.

I'm gonna try and re-scan tonite with cover on the scanner so the cards are flat against the glass and see if that changes how they look.

Compared the Mantle to a '54 common. The card isn't trimmed....it's too long (the Mantle card is behind the common so you can see the larger border. What now? Do I send in or not?

I would send it in. All you lose is your grading fees. Who knows...it might snag a number.

Looking at the original scan, the top border is straight, but that bottom border is diamond cut; very strange.

In my opinion, every one of those cards are worth subbing at least once. I'd say let it ride!

If the card is not square, it will not grade at all. Miscut. Save your time and money and don't bother submitting a card that has an improper cut.

For the record, you do not lose your fee's you receive a voucher.

Off the top of my head I think it's N9, with that cut it won't fit in the slab.

I have a few cards like that.
