4SC- Go to work on this card!

I need this card, but I need it a lot cheaper than this. Already a pop 43, can 4SC get it to a pop 100 or so?

1980 brett psa 10

And by go to work on this card, I mean go to work submitting this card to psa, not go to work, well you know.........

I'm not sure they make a distinction.

I've got a couple subbed due in March (a lot of other 80 Topps as well). If one hits a 10, I'll probably unload it and keep you in mind if you don't find one by then. One has a really strong chance, but we'll see!

    Like.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Anyone think that all these 10's 4sc or PSA guy keep getting will hurt PSA values going forward?
Work hard and you will succeed!!

Matty, thanks but I'm in no hurry so I just think in the future I'll be able to pick one up cheaper. But considering what that one on ebay brought, you're offering yours for a very fair price in today's market.

No it will not hurt the values at all going forward. The more PSA 10's that enter the market will only drive the prices of them up and up

This flies in the face of supply and demand. Price is a function of supply and demand, if supply goes up and demand stays static then prices will fall.

If supplies go up and demand goes up in an equal manner the prices will stay the same.

A substantial amount of PSA 10's were to hit the market, it has to effect the price.

One can make the case that higher supply will attract newer collectors, I don't believe this. I would fall more in the camp that says more supply will lower prices and once prices hit a certain level, that may lure collectors in for the bargin affect thus creating a small bump in prices. But for that bump to occur, prices must bottom out first.

    In short, prices will fall.

Exactly What 4SC did to most of the mainstream TV Non Sports sets of the 1960's. 5 years ago 10's were Rare and $100-$300 each, 4SC went to work and your lucky to get $30 for some stuff that was $300, so be prepared !!!

    I'm taking the 'over'.
  • As a collector, I like this. My goal is to get PSA 10 Dale Murphy cards for the lowest price possible.

I do not view my card collection as any sort of investment at all. I approach card purchasing as a wasted cash. However, I enjoy it so for me it is worth it.

I would never consider buying 80's PSA 10s as a lomg term winning bet.

If the bottom falls out this market, that would just allow me to get more cards for my money.

I don't know, Vegas has it at 8.5 which I think is a tad high. I'm gonna wait to see if the line moves then bang it hard if it gets down to 7.

    +1

I feel the same way. I purchase alot of cards that I know will never have any value to others, but I like them nontheless. One day my son will get them all from me and hopefully continue to add to the collection. 4sharpcorners has been one of my favorite sources of cards as no one else ever seems to submit some of the oddball stuff they do.

Sarcastic ..since it was said if they keep getting more and more..something would have to give.

I would think it would also depend on the card.

In general, I agree, prices would and have plummeted.
    Good for you.
