No problem. All of us in Baleyville paid off our mortgages long ago.

Connecticut. We cut taxes. Phone bill went up with new tax that no one saw coming or knows about. Welcome to America ....

Appears to apply only to new mortgages and refinancing. Nothing better to boost the real estate market. image

It's called spreading your wealth around...where ya' been? It's not a tax, it's your duty.

Another outrage that makes us want to leave the United States of America for another, better place!

I moved here 7 years ago and am very happy with the decision I made (I am proud to have an american son and another on his/her way) even though I would like to go back home sooner or later.
America has big problems and contradictions (i.e. your health care really puzzles me). Like every other country though!

And where exactly would you go? Canada don't want you, not really. They're too polite to say so, hence the 3+ year immigration wait list. You're probably too old to even think about applying to immigrate to Australia, they won't take you if you're over 40. And New Zealand has Sponge Bob money!

It is kind of like sales taxes. You don't notice it, but it adds up. I wonder if anyone has ever totaled the state and city sales takes they pay.

I think you mean sarcastic but I agree that he was kidding. I can't think of another country where I'd rather live.

    Yes, sarcastic, of course...image

I lived in different countries but only in Italy I feel at home. I think that's what makes the difference.

For all of us born and raised here the answer is simple, this is and always will be home.

It is easy to blame the political leaders for all of our problems but the citizens also had their hands out wanting whatever they could get.

Most of us have a hunch where this will all lead us but nobody knows when it will happen. In the meantime enjoy your life but prepare for the inevitable and once the currency turns into something else realize that it will still buy food, clothing and a new car.
