Another lost coin from our great postal service!

I was watching a report on how much stealing is going on by people that work at the post office, and its much more that one might belive. It seems some postal workers have developed a method on how to detect cash and valuables in our mail and are stealing them out from under us,

I have had a 1998 MS 69 matte Kennedy, value 300.00 a 1976 MS 68 Kennedy, value 200.00 and another forum members payment I belive to be stolen in just a short time. Lets face it it has an address and a return address , and its insured it never shows up! How come it has to go somewhere, where is the postal service lost and found? It seems to me its in some postal workers pocket. What they drop this stuiff on the street?

Its one of the mysterys that ticks me off, how much of your stuff is lost? How can mail get lost, if we insure the care to our government employess... where does this stuff end up?

I dont belive its lost I belive its stolen, and by the people we pay to take care of it.....image

If you send or receive an item that is insured first class or priority mail, it travels in the open with the rest of the mail, and for a good part of the journey is moved by contractors who pay their employees peanuts. The only was to insure your item stays under the direct control of the post office is to send it registered. I strongly recommend using registered mail for any item worth over $300.

I don't have any stats handy, but I suspect the US Postal Service is in the top 5% of all worldwide postal services. Be happy you do most of your shipping in the USA!

I've shipped several hundred items over the past two years, and only had 1 not arrive. I was paid in full on my claim for that one.

The thing is they're not goverment employees. I can't remember how long they've been separated from the government. Postal employees make good money. My mom used to be a post master. Just the regular workers with 15+years experience make over $20 an hour.
