Henry Eidam (Born June 4, 1849 in Sommerhausen; Died 5 April 1934 in Gunzenhausen) was senior medical officer in Gunzenhausen. Dr. Henry Eidam settled in Gunzenhausen since 1878, with excavations to investigate the history of the city and its environs Gunzenhausen. He founded the same year, the association of ancient friends and became its first chairman. In 1892 he was commissioner of the empire-line Limes Commission. He oversaw the Raetian Limes section of Kleinlellenfeld to Rezat. Eidam documented the Roman forts Gunzenhausen (1897), Gnotzheim (from 1878), and Munningen Theilenhofen (1892 to 1895). In 1895 he became the district doctor, and he built a milk kitchen to combat child mortality and an Ambulance Corps (1891). 1921 saw the opening of the museum's home he had initiated.
