*One for the BBL* *Kevin Burge Update*

Update:Card arrived back and the tape was broken.

This guy is thanksobamamoney 19732 feedback... I figured he would know better

Anyway... I tape EVERY card before putting it in the bubble mailer and sending it... I specifically remember putting tape on this card.... And 40 other cards arrived safely... I put extra precaution in this one... So the guy is obviously lying or somehow cardboard broke through tape...

And I'm afraid he will damage the card and send it back and I will be stuck with a piece of junk (what he said in the message)... I'm almost sure he is going to damage it when sending it back.

Him to me:
I received the card but the top right hand corner of the card looks like it was hanging out of the top loader and got completely smashed. I will either take a 1/2 refund or i will send the card back for a full refund. Either way please let me know thanks and sorry for the bad news

I send him a message back saying please return it for a full refund it is policy that I don't give partial refunds.

Him to me:
PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR ADDRESS AND I WOULD GLADLY MAIL THIS PIECE OF CRAP BACK TO YOU THANKS

- thanksobamamoney

What condition was the card in when sent? Unless this is a vintage card that still has value in mid grade why would anyone only want half refund? His username indicates he likes getting something for nothing.

Sorry, but why would you put extra precaution on that one? And none other.

  • I'm just going to step out on a limb right now and say... "100"
  • Because it was a $40... And it is a fairly rare card... I do it with all of my single cards at $25+

The card was sent in nrmt+ condition no creases no bends no nothing with tape completely covering the top of the toploader (same way I send all the other cards).

There is absolutely no way the CORNER was damaged... IF anything was damaged the entire card would have been bent or creased because of the toploader being bent not just a small corner... So I know it is complete BS.

It is a 1991 20 Strip Brett Favre RC... And probably doesn't have value damaged as stated.

He is just fishing for partial refunds to screw over sellers.

The likelihood is he will end up keeping the card since you called his bluff. They usually do. Just be polite towards him, otherwises if you set this scammer off he will send the card back and will intentionally damage it.

Keep us posted if he actually sends the item back or not. Also remember if he does send it back but doesn't use delivery confirmation do not admit to receiving it back period.
  • I was extremely polite... I put it all on me... Sorry for the damage I really do apologize please send it back here is my address.

I like to do that. I buy cards just so I can damage them and send them back.
    I'll bet that's what he's doing here.

I've been able to get so many 1/2 refunds lately from gullible sellers that I'm thinking of quitting my day job.

    DING DING DING

By having private feedback, the people he tried to extort for partial refunds can't see what kind of feedback he leaves for others or what kind of feedback those he tries to scam leave for him. This is a HUGE red flag.

Sean, I would give him the return address and wait. More likely than not, he is not going to send it back, he was just fishing.

Knowing that douchebag, I'd bet he'll be sending back a completely different card that already had the damage so he'd be replacing your card with his damaged one basically upgrading his copy for free.

  • << <i>Team Bags are your friend. >>

spot on. Invest in some and never worry about tape issues again.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

Ahh that's it Barry! Also, I thought a seller could NOT have private feedback?

Or is this his new buying only account?
    Good for you.

It's funny you guys say this... I've got 500 team bags sitting next to me... And as many cards as I've received with cards in them and sent I've never used them once......

As long as you had his other ID on the BBL this one can't touch you.

    It's from the same account.

It was simply a name change.

Yep, yet another good reason ebay should go back to the old feedback rules.

  • << <i>Thank you for the post. I did not realize this was Kevin Burge a total POS! He was a non selling seller then negged me when I filed an eBay claim before the new rules. I added his new ID to my BBL.

It wouldnt surprise me if he already had the same exact card, except the card was already damaged and he is going to do the old switcheroo on him

As for dealing with him and not getting taken yet....you know the old saying of playing with fire.

So 3 of his last 8 feedbacks left for sellers were negative and 1 of the 5 positives complained about high shipping charges. Added the DB to my BBL.
  • mtcardsmtcards Posts: 3,340 ✭✭✭
Not to mention, the shipping charges were CLEARLY listed in the auction. Gotta love people who get $100+ worth of cards for $34, then complain about an extra buck in shipping charges when theyre clearly shown

Yep...and wouldn't it be interesting if an altered version with clean edges and better multi-color patches to reappear magically sometime in the future?
