Old pictures of Baseball Card Shows, etc.

These are not my auctions, but I came across them today doing a search. They are "Wire Photo's" of baseball cards, shows, shops etc. It is fun to see the prices on cards from the 70's and 80's.

Site with Photo's: (I just noticed that this link starts on Page 2, make sure you checkout the 1st page also!)

Here is a Mantle RC from 1981 worth $2000 at the time:

Mantle RC circa 1981

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

    Diane Lane?

S&P 500 historic return (inflation adjusted) is 6.8%, so invested in 1980, that $175 is now $1440.00. Depending on the grades of those cards, probably not a large delta.
Kiss me once, shame on you.
    Kiss me twice.....let's party.
  • The guy with the Mantle lived in my neighborhood. He would have is own card show in his garage at least three times a summer in the late '70s and early '80s. He advanced to promoting shows and also owned a card shop in a couple of locations for a few years. His son still sells stuff on eBay.
