Just Collect - Raw Vintage

Hello,

Has anyone had any experience buying raw vintage (mid 50's) from Just Collect? I'm just curious as I'm unclear as to why they wouldn't submit them in they were in the 5 to 7 range.

Thank you in advance.

What makes you think they haven't been submitted before?
  • I have never had any issues with Just Collect. Great IMO. They do consignments so they probably don't send everything in to get graded. I personally don't see the need of sending in some things that people send in to get graded. Believe it or not, there are still people out there who prefer raw to graded.

On another note, I think some people get too paranoid when they see someone selling graded and ungraded. For one, you could be dealing with someone who doesn't send cards in to get graded but has bought cards already graded. Secondly, for some people who sell, it isn't worth the time or money spent to send a bunch of cards in to get a grade you may or may not be happy with, and grading doesn't guarantee a higher price either. It's a lot of unknowns that some people would rather not bother with.

I was thinking that. But is their "justcollectcards" id (as opposed to "Just_Collect") their consignment id, perhaps? It may not be the same relationship as 4SC and newenglandsportscards.

Agree. If I graded every card I had. PSA would make probably millions. And I would some how lose around a billion with ebay fees and everything.

For commons, it's likely not worth grading anything post-1953 that won't get at least a 7, and post-1957, even 7s are often not worth grading. Add in the time value of not having to carefully evaluate the cards to figure out what to submit and the risk of spending money to get grades that were lower than you thought, and there are an awful lot of raw cards for sale from this era that could get PSA 7s.

Even for stars and superstars, a 5 or a 6 may not draw a premium graded.

I've purchased 5's from them and seen as low as 4's.
