My Jackie Robinson Collection

After being inspired by Mike's vault post (and considering the fact that we are in Black History month), I wanted to share my collection with the rest of you for the first time. I just moved up to #3 on the PSA registry for the Jackie Robinson master set as well. I apologize in advance if I'm posting this in the wrong section!

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

I've thought about cracking and resubmitting the Eureka Sportstamp. I always thought it was undergraded as well.

    Nice cards image

especially like the W571 exhibit size, and the uncommon D302s, very nice.

Its too bad PSA still havent pulled their heads out of that tight spot on the 1947 D305 (rounded corners) cards (idiots).... I guess you have to go the SGC way if you want that one graded.

PS Just wanted to point out PSA missed a few years, the Leaf card is a 1949 issue (all Leaf cards were issued in 1949 only, even though some have a 1948 copyright), and the Old Gold card is a 1947 issue (read the back)
  • sweet auto!

I've yet to add an auto to my collection. Looking for a signed 8x10 eventually to add to my son's wall of HOF autoed photos.

The Bond Bread issues have some of the best action shots. That one is probably my favorite of them as well.

They are incredibly hard to find.

fkw, thanks! I wish they would grade the D305s as well - They aren't overly difficult to distinguish from the reprints imo.

Funny thing about the Leaf card... That was originally in a SGC 60 holder image - I cracked it and submitted to PSA - on my submission form, I wrote 1949 for the year, and they still put 1948 for it.

You are right about the Old Gold card. Have you seen the other variation of the Old Gold (leaping version)? One of my favorite action shots of Jackie, and a tough card to find as well.
