Collection of something different . . .

Besides cards and others things, I also collect Locker Room Championship hats from all 4 major sports (including plenty of duplicates and multiples of some teams)... Looking for '95 Braves and '01 Lakers to complete my runs.

Here are some shots of most of the NHL, NFL and NBA hats. I'm too lazy to get the other tub out with the MLB and the ones that fill any missing spaces:

    Very cool Scott!

Never thought about collecting them - they're graphically very attractive and they commemorate great games.

Do you have them displayed or put away?

They would look nice on shelves - I like they way hats look on display - for sale - in sports stores.

  • I use to collect NES Games. I probably have around 20 more after this picture was taken. I use to collect hardcore from 2002-2005. I have about 7 sealed games as well including Super C. Heres a picture of just the games I had lying around in my photobucket.

Used to have them displayed in my office, then went to the most recent champion in each sport. Now, they're all put away in storage tubs. Including duplicates, there are about 150 hats, now. Interesting how some of the older ones spike when a team gets to the championship game and/or wins again. Giants XXXXII hats are insane right now with a few going for nearly $100/per.
  • Scott those are just Awesome to look at. Never thought of doing runs like that, but it's a great idea!! I will keep my eyes open for the Braves and Lakers...

Foo that's an insane amount of NES games, seriously. I was watching a sealed game lot that ended the other night. I wish I had pulled the trigger. Would have sold them out individually. I dunno maybe they are not worth it. I don't buy things I don't really know much about. Here is the link... NES GAMES

    Great stuff Scott.

I love that everyone is showing there collections off!!! The year is getting better!!!!

Those are pretty cool. I never knew that those types of hats would be "collectible" and fetch that kind of coin. Do you try and buy them directly from the team or wait until they hit the secondary market?? Do you have any that were actually "used" in the locker room celebrations??

Hey Foo - that's incredible! Me and my son used play SM3 for hours on end - we used to have contests to see who could save the princess faster - his best was 22 minutes - I was always a minute behind.

Do you have The Adventures of LoLo? I had all 3 and have won all 3 which takes some serious time! I once spent a whole afternoon in one room!!!!!

  • Scott (otw) do you display your hats at all, they are awesome.

Scott, have you ever picked up any of the non-champion team? ...the losing team also gets champion hats made in case they win, just not released if they don't win.

Nice Transformers on the shelf there. I loved those things as a kid. They're worth some serious money now sealed in the package.

There are '01 Lakers out there, but they are mostly "after market" as the originals were OSFA and not sized. The OSFA is a real PITA to find and the last one I saw went for $92 two years ago. I was out at $75 when I was really gung-ho about having a complete run. I have not seen a '95 Braves hat that is a LR issue and I'm not certain one was even made. Perhaps MLB started in '96 with the Yankees. If anyone has any locker room or on-field celebration pics of the Braves' championship, I'd love to see if there are any hats being worn.
  • Yes! Super C was the best NES game ! Mario 3 and Super Techmo Bowl right up there. What was everybodies favorite Techmo Bowl team? I always played with the Lions and ran all over the place with Barry Sanders and used Jerry Ball on defense.... :-)
  • miconelegacy - Thats an insane lot. I'm not surprised that they sold for that much because those are great games sealed but I'm pretty sure I would of passed on them even if I had the money. I haven't felt passionate about collecting games in a long time. Theres a store I go to to purchase used DVD's for $3 when Im bored and have nothing to do and they also sell games. At this point, I have every single game I ever had as a kid plus waaay more. I also use to look out for the rarer games and sell the doubles. They still sell pretty good on eBay.

Stone193 - I have Lolo 1 and 3. Those games are awesome. I still remember one night my friend slept over when I was around 11 and we stayed up pretty late playing part 1 and we got really far too but were never beat it. Mario 3 on the other hand... no problem. Great memories.

vettfanatic - Those Transformers are sealed but they are from the Toys R Us reissue from about 2001/2. That Optimus and Starscream I remember sold out pretty quick. They have them on eBay but I got mines for the original price. You cant see them I dont think but I also have Hot Rod and Jazz amongst with about 5 others. Love me some Transformers.

Edit for DDaniel83 - The Raiders for sure. Bo Jackson, c'mon. No one comes close.

Have a couple of "phantom" hats, including the Devils and Yankees. The originals are really tough as they typically only run off a few dozen of each (more for the NFL) until they have a winner and then they run the machines overnight at various locations around the country including one that is about 5 miles from my home (the source for many of these the morning after the final game as well as a my "unauthorized" phantoms). I've seen some mocked up, too. Not the hardest thing to do.
