Question about last years GPK Series 1 group rip

In last year's Group Rip, was the box a glossy back box? I dont have another to compare the difference between matte and glossy. I just busted a few of them and can't tell the difference. They look shiny to me though!

  • MOrning,

I still have a couple up in my Store and the flips Do Not designate as Glossy, so my guess is that the are the Matte finish which to some still can seem shiny.

Actually Collect Non Sport, but am just so full of myself I post all over the place !!!!!!!
  • Thanks Neil, I watched a YouTube video of a full box break of the glossy backs. I understand that PSA have recently begun to designate them as such. I know it was awhile back but did you attempt to designate them as glossy on the sub form? The back seems just as shiny as the front and the card actually looks to have that glossy paper, wavy, look.

I purchased 10 or so packs from that group rip. I'm pretty sure they were glossy backs. PSA didn't label them as glossy or even checklists when I wrote checklist back. I guess now they do. I purchased a full box from bbce and they are all glossy and still have to sub those 75 cards soon. I also have a few mixed sets PSA 9 and 10 mixed and some 8's and have 16 gai packs to open soon...even the 9's image. I purchased some of the newest glossy labeled flips too. Guess they will grade glossy from now on?
  • Thanks everyone for the info, I found the old thread and cellos actually explained it with a photo. It looks like the entire rip was glossy. Neil, do you remember what ones were graded? If you have an Atom Bomb, let me know! Kingbeeswax, I busted 6 of them and pulled only a handful of gradeable ones as most were OC.
