If you think you have found a new variety, where do you send it for authentication?

I saw a note in the Cherry Pickers' guide about letting them know if you find a new variety
and I naturally wondered where to send the coin for authentication if it is indeed a new
variety? Will PCGS do this or do you have the send the coin somewhere else?
Thanks.

The Cherrypicker's Guide attempts to list the more major varieties of a wide number of series.
In a sense, this book "cherrypicks" selected material from a wide number of books.
The variety you found may already be listed in a more specialized variety guide to the particular series.

<< <i>If you send in a submission and the coin was a new variety..would pcgs let you know that the coin was a new variety or just give it a grade and send it back ? >>
They simply gade it and send it back.
PCGS is a "grading service", not an "attribtution service".
To get a coin attributed, send it to CONECA in the link that Mingot provided. Be SURE to email James First.
As a side note, the Cherry Pickers Guide is NOT the Variety Bible. Its only a "guide" as there are many thousands of different varieties across many different coin series that are NOT in the CPG. Folks who really have an interest in Varieties should consider using CONECA as their first choice for information. Especially for Modern Coinage. After that there are many folks which specialize in a particular series.

<< <i>"Best thing would be to locate *the* specialist for the series you are concerned about."

I believe that this is what the OP is trying to do. Knowing what his coin is would be a good starting point though so that other members could point him in the right direction.
