  • NOt sure I see an issue with listing them.
Now to think he is going to get seven figures, he's out to lunch.
If they belong to him he can do anything he wants to with them.

Take the auction for what it is... a look at what I have attention grabber. I don't think ethically he's breaking any unwritten laws, if the price was $1k we wouldn't be having the same conversation. It's written to interest people whom share that sentiment.

The article is as dumb as the listing.

I would HIGHLY encourage people to watch The Pat Tillman Story movie if they haven't. It's an amazing movie and will open many peoples eyes...

    $15 well spent

Mike ... I agree with the writer that this item will never bring close to his asking price and will never reach his minimum.

HOWEVER, IMO there is NOTHING wrong with what he is doing. He owns the article and is free to do with it as he pleases. Is it any different than the guys that sell autographs of people who died way too young? Or charge a lot for an autographed card from the year that the person died? There is a lot of memorabilia that sells at inflated prices because of the untimely death of an athlete.

This was my initial sentiment. It isn't like his description is milking the tragic death of an American hero, he's sticking to football and not evoking any emotional triggers.

I think the writer and anyone who is complaining about the item are people who don't really understand sports memorabilia. Is the price crazy? Yes. Is there anything wrong with selling it? No.

    Sorry for the empty posts....

I was meaning to say that I don't feel that there is anything wrong with this listing outside the fact that the seller is asking about 5,000 times too much for the shoes. Perhaps I missed it, but the article is acting like Tillman has been sainted and that these shoes are relics or something.
  • if we all send a best offer of $1.00 , maybe he'll get the point...
ok, I offered a buck and was automatically rejected...

  • The price is obviously an attention grabber and it seems to be working. They are his to sell and they seem to have an LOA from PSA/DNA for being game used(which I didn't know they did). On top of that, they are autographed. He won't get his asking price but someone will be willing to pay 5 figures of them. After all, a 1 o 1 baseball card of a rookie pitcher sold for $20,000.
  • Looks like he just got his asking price!!!
