I sold the Larry Bird PSA 10 for $200 which was cool. The Magic PSA 9 only went for $20.
A Magic Johnson, Karrem, Mosus Malone, Dr. J in a PSA 10 could do well I think as well and they are all very low pop or none.
The Drazon Petrovic's averaged $30 a piece. I did not get any Sabonis base stickers in my box.
The track and field stars like Carl Lewis I had terrible luck with but I have saw a PSA 8 recently fetch $22 and my PSA 9 went for $10 and I gave the other raw one away and it got a PSA 10. There are other big name track athletes that would make for cool graded items to add to a collection.
The tennis stars ranged from $10 to $35 but had I had more patience I could have brought the low end of the range up. I spent $9 on getting many of them graded so I wanted to get my grading fees back and then at least a $1 per card so I would break even on them with 600 stickers in the box. I was hoping to get a PSA 10 Steffi Graff and got three PSA 9's. I think a Gem Mint example of her's could fetch a nice price.
I sold the Mardona base cards and foil cards raw for $25. There may be others in the set that are collected but none that I know of.
There are other sports like cycling in there and Greg Lamond is a big name but I did not get any of his and really am not aware of the popularity or lack their of with the other cyclists featured.
The boxing stars like Marvin Hagler and Michael Spinks did okay but once again had I been more patient they could have easily brought in more then the $20 they got. I think a cool set would be all of the boxers in a mini PSA registry set with Tyson obviously being the big draw.
I still have a ton of raw stickers and plan to grade a few more of the basketball players and perhaps some of the foil cards. Many of the foil cards are not in the best of shape out of the packs and there is no foil Tyson as that is only in the Panini UK edition.
You can see there is a broad range of sports in the set and plenty of oppurtunity to pull some nice cards/stickers.
Thought I might throw this out to you guys. A guy on the SCN boards is advertising a Tyson signing in February. The details are below. If you need any information, PM me. I do not know the person handling the signing, although I am involved in a Jerry Rice signing he is doing.

You can see Mike the back sticker on a few if you hold it up to the light but it would not make for a good graded pack in my opinion. And when you can see who it is, you can barely see and becuase they are in Italian good luck reading them. In another thread I used this website to translate it but it was not a decription of the athlete like the UK version.
The other issue is the glue is very flemsy on these and they peal right open. A few the glue had opened a touch and the stickers had shifted some. There was no concern of tampering but just another reason these would not make for a good graded pack choice.
Mike I think the PSA 10 is awesome!!! I just wish one of mine had that label on it!
<< <i> I also picked up this one the other day. I know some of you don't like it, but I had to have it.
>>
Mike, you son of a gun - you bought the PSA 10 that sold!? Nice work. I don't think it's got perfect L/R centering, but it's still a heck of a card. If I didn't like it I wouldn't have bid over $500 on it myself You're amassing the Tyson collection to rival all Tyson collections!

Man, I'm amazed at what some of those cards fetched. I will say this, the UK version doesn't have any basketball cards in it - but it does have the Greg Norman rookie in it. I think a Greg Norman in PSA 10 would probably do pretty well. I'll have to go back through mine - I opened up about 75 packs of the UK series (only scored one nice Tyson, though.
I ordered two packs at 10$/apiece last year. Got nobody I'd ever heard of. Did get a Tyson RC from him from Greece and he said it was his best and I have it- it's the nicest I've seen- and I've never sent a card in for grading but this is the most perfect one I've seen... Hmm...
