How much is a Signed 1952 Topps Mantle Worth?

Their is one on ebay, I was just wondering how much these normally sell for.

1952 Topps Mantle

I have no idea what the normal sell price is. It is a neat card.

Depends on a few factors, IMO this specific one is over priced.

or at least more than I'd spend for it.
    Good for you.

    Dave,

That one has been up on ebay for quite a long time. Not sure if I could give you a FMV price on it, as I don't think there are a lot of them out there. If I ever did get it for my set, I'd have to settle for one on the reprint card, like I have for the Pafko.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • It's way out of my price range, but was wondering.

    It is a neat card.

Since the condition of the card and the condition of the auto are
going to vary a bit from card to card, I think the range in prices
will also be wide. Looking at just a couple examples...

Here's a trimmed Mantle that presents nicely, with a signature
that graded 9. Keep in mind this was from 2005. Just under $5K.

Here's another example, where the card and auto are about as
good as it gets, so we get to see the ceiling for these cards.
This gorgeous signed Mantle sold for $19K. Just a fantastic card...

The card on eBay is about as bad as it gets, imo. The card is a beater,
and not only has creasing running through the face, but also paper loss.
Even if I was looking for just a beater 52 Topps Mantle, I'd pass on that one.
On top of this, the auto is faded and fairly weak. In today's market,
I would guesstimate that the eBay card is worth $4K-$6K.

The range is huge. I have seen beater autographed 52 Mantles sell for as low as about $3700 a couple months ago at the Bussineau Sports auctions all the way up to around $20,000 for ones with attractive eye appeal. The one that sold at Bussineau is pictured below. The winning bidder offered it on ebay in December and it sold for $4500.00 (the minimum bid) I had a deal in place with the seller to buy it at $4100 if it didn't sell in the ebay auction, but alas, someone bid on it on the final minute (that was a heartbreaker for me, LOL, it was going to be a heckuva Christmas present to myself image ) They actually don't seem too hard to find, but most sellers price them like they are rare. I've seen more signed 52 Mantles then I've seen signed Willie Stargell rookies. I personally think the Mill Creek one is overpriced, but nothing against Mill Creek, they are great to do business with and can price their cards however they like.
