With all these crazy prices on cards, boxes, and packs.... I'd say the economy is doing much better!

The stuff that has been realized lately new and old IMO is just some proof the economy is making positive waves.
I'm not saying it's the 90's or 2006, or 2007, but things overall the past several months are improving.
From the housing market, mortgage rates, European debt crisis not affecting the US as much, the Auto industry numbers, employment slowing ticking upward, and these crazy card prices, I'd say the US is doing much better and it just feels like things are on a positive path.
Bottom line good for the card industry IMO. And if you have a Ruth RC, a Ozzie PSA 10 RC, 40 boxes of 93 Finest, or a Ripken RC Traded PSA 10.
Happy collecting!!!

the people spending these crazy dollars were neither affected then, nor are they affected now.
i believe the card market, as well as the sports collectibles market in general, to be somewhat transparent to the fact that many people are still out of work, or overqualified to take jobs which would pay them poorly.
some of the material hitting the market right now is being liquidated by folks who need the money in favor of buyers who already have it.
Basically, Larry is going to come on and lead with "Baseball cards are selling like hotcakes. That's means unemployment is
heading back to 8%, the housing mess is over, and all the OTC derivatives are going to work themselves out. Greece will
become solvent, Italy and Spain just bought some Babe Ruth rookies above VCP, so they're on the right track too.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
