Was trying to buy bullion on the cheap.

Accidently entered a 2 roll bid on a single roll of BU Frankies. image

Ha! I had a similar experience.

While showing a dealer friend how you can live bid at stacks-Bowers on your laptop during the auction, I accidently bought a Choice Unc Copper Nickel Indian cent today.

    I hope you liked it.
  • I placed about $250k in bids and spent less than $2500 in the sale -- even though I kept bidding on outbid notices, etc. This was a really nice sale with lots of collector coins and they went strong. Congrats to Stacks-Bowers.

I only saw the image during my 5 second "bid demonstration".

We'll see how it is in hand... .

Buying coins sight-unseen in an auction is usually not the wisest move.

Especially if you're not sure HOW MANY coins you're bidding on.

If I take it off your hands at a moderate loss, do I still get a hat?? image

Can't promise, but perhaps we can work something out.image

Of course, I'd have to sneak the hat out the back door, so Scrooge McHat (better known around these parts as ColonialCoinUnion) doesn't see me doing it. He treats those hats like they are his children.
