Welcome change in CBH pricing brings some odd discrepancies...

Genric CBHs (1824-1836) in 64 increased to $4250, and 1823s in 64 was raised to $5000.
But now we have these inconsistances:
1. 1828 Sq Base 2, sm 8, Lrg letter (3950) now less than the 1828 curl base 2, no knob (4250)
2. 1823 64 now more than 1822 (4900) and equal to 1821 in 64 (5k)
3. 1830 large O (4000) less than 1830 small O in 64 (4250).
Curiosity begs the question--was this was an over site, or it is the "new normal."
Thoughts?

You have mentioned some relative rarities that are indeed off a bit. Me, I don't much care what the charts say for MS64 Bust Half Dollars, too expensive for me to buy anyway.
I think the guides are reflecting this increase across the board, even though not all generic dates were
represented in the sale. As for the failure to raise all the generics( like the 1830 large-O), it was priced higher than
the most generic dates, and will probably get raised at a later time. Same is true for the 1828 sm 8 lg letters.
I have no idea why the 1823 got bumped, but the 21 and 22 did not( to 5k). Perhaps a dealer sale that was reported for the 1823.
Remember that these"guides"are for average dealer retail. We know that many generic CBHs in 64 will trade for much less,
and some for quite a bit more. A real nice 1826 brought $5175 in the sale, as did an 1822 in MS63.
From time to time, I have seen DH roaming the floor, looking for coins for his site, and he will know the dealer prices
in many series.
