I bought this fiery gem from Shane at KryptoniteComics, one of the premier toned coin dealers on the Planet.
Photo by Phil Arnold who is just "insanely great".
This was an NGC MS66 that crossed to PCGS at the same grade MS66.

Let's see more!

FadeToBlack, your tounge-in-cheek "offer price" is not THAT far off. I bought this for $78 back in December. There were 10 bidders and 14 bids, with the last 6 bids in the $70's. You should submit your Roosies!

That 1946 is COOL looking! I always like seeing coins from the 1st year of issue. Is that a thumbprint on the obverse? If it is, I think that is the most attractive thumbprint toning I've ever seen -- the coloration, esp. on the reverse, is striking!

I have several Dansco pages full of silver Roosevelt toners. I really enjoy collecting them, as this is one frontier of toners that is still under the radar.

Question, as I'm curious. Your NGC 58D MS66 that you crossed to PCGS as an MS66 was in a NGC MS66* (Star) Holder. I know this since it was a coin I consigned to Shane. Why would you Cross a Star at NGC to PCGS in the same grade and lose the Star?

Hello Lablover, Your coin is fantastic! I almost exclusively buy colorfully toned coins -- and I crossed the coin in order to get a TrueView out-of-the-slab photo at PCGS. Shooting out of the slab allows an optimal view of a coins color (IMHO). I actually try to cross ALL the NGC coins that I buy to PCGS at least once, and have had them drop by as much as 2 grades in order to get them in PCGS holders. Some coins deemed market acceptible by NGC, PCGS simply will not grade at all. From what I have seen PCGS seems to be both stricter with grading than NGC and is a bit more strict in general with their assessment of market acceptible vs questionable color. At least that has been my personal experience.

Hello Wings...YOUR coin is Fantastic!!! That was/is a killer 58D and better then the MS66 grade. Can't blame you for wanting a TrueView...it's still a STAR Coin.

The glare covers up even more toning in the spots it covers and the images don't do it justice.

It's one of those coins that pop when tilted.
