So, I turned my young coworkers onto some unopened wax....

I work with some younger guys in their 20's. I had some unopened wax packs from my 1988 Fleer B-Ball boxes that I won from Huggins & Scott. Everyone here says the packs were no good because I didn't buy them from Steve Hart, so I just sat on the packs. Anyway, my coworkers (young guys in their 20's) know about my card collecting obsession, and heard about these packs and wanted to open some up! They couldn't believe that I had unopened wax from when they were two years old!! Anyway, they felt like kids in candy stores again. And when one of them pulled the Jordan card out, you should have seen the expression on their face! Anyway, just wanted to share this with ya'll....

  • Ahh, if you got those in one pack, you did well. A third year Jordan and a Scottie Pippen RC.

His pack had the Jordan.....my pack had the off-centered Pippen rookie card......we each opened a pack. I couldn't let him open up one without me opening up one!! image

Bobby ... thought you were pretty daring when I read the first line of your post ... 1986Fleer B-Ball boxes ... those two years make quite a difference! LOL I know it was a mistake.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

LOL!!! That is the same mistake that made me the accidental winner of these through Huggins & Scott....my dumb-ass thought these were the ones when I won these 4 years ago!!!
  • Very Nice! The last year before they slaughtered the forests to make basketball cards.

Bobby, ripping a 58 Football Cello is a blast. A little on the pricey side, but that's such a cool set.

I worked in a Cumberland Farms in 88 and we carried those. I couldn't keep my hands off of them. Doubt a box ever made it to the store shelf. Wish I held on to them but cleared most of that stuff out in the early 90s.

Dan...when you say pricey, is it over $400/$500?

You can get them for 350-450 on the low end. 6-7 grade

Neil....were you pleased with the pack, or is the centering and corners atrocious?
