Prince Fielder Detroit Tigers 2011 Topps Traded Fantasy Card - ADDED 2012 Version

My first attempt at Photoshopping a jersey. I'm not quite as good as Topps, but I like how it turned out.

Edit: Added a 2012 Topps version.

VERY VERY nice job! Looks as good as the one Topps will produce!

Almost TWENTY-FOUR MILLION DOLLARS per year for NINE YEARS. AMAZING!
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • Nice work! But I think he's a little thin in the picture!

The toughest job in baseball is being Prince Fielder's belt.
  • Great day to be a Tigers fan! Love it.

If I was a Tigers fan I'd be feeling like I did when the Yankees (Yankee fan here) re-upped with ARod. Good short-term, bad in the long run. I really think the Tigers will get 3-4 years of great from Prince then a few years of "Oh man, why did we do this contract again?" years. I like Fielder btw...

    Oh and nice card design!

Fielder is only 27. That means he will be 35 in the last year of his contract, not 40 like ARod. And I don't worry about his power being steroid or HGH driven like ARod. At 13 years old, Fielder was hitting balls over the right-field fence at Tiger Stadium.

Fielder turns 28 on May 9th. He'll actually be 36 for the majority of his final year under this contract. Doesn't seem like much of a difference, but with his size it might be.

I'm gonna miss the big man...nobody ran out ground balls harder or gave more of an effort to win in every game the Brewers played when he was here.

True, but ARod, 'roids and all, was in much better shape then Fielder has been in his career. You don't see many guys carrying that kind of weight being super productive into their mid to late thirties.

And the big winner of the prince fielder signing.

Justin Verlander- who will now become a 30 game winner. image

As much as I hate the Tigers, I can't help but admire Verlander. I'm even going to start doing his basic set on the registry.
  • The team in Arlington, specifically their lineup is still the class of the American League.

For how many years of the contract will Fielder's batting average exceed his weight?

I like the move by the Tigers. They want to win now to take advantage of the prime years of Cabrera and Verlander. I'll enjoy the ride for now and not worry about 5 years from now.

His dad was a very popular player in Detroit and the fans will love Prince.

By the way, Scott Boras is still the best agent in baseball if not all sports.

Fans don't like him, but if it's an agents job to get money, and it is, it is hard to argue his effectiveness.

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
  • I finally got my hands on a 2012 Topps card, so I whipped up a 2012 Tigers Prince Fielder card in the OP.
