obscure 19th century Numismatic Literature question...

Regarding the small monthly publication "The Numismatic Journal", produced by L.S. Drowne of North Adams, MA... How many issues were produced in total?

I am aware of issues 1 through 5, produced August through December 1877.

It would be cool to find out what other issues were produced. Does anyone know? Thanks!!!

The on-line catalog for the ANS library shows six issues for The Numismatic Journal.

CaptHenway is right, this is an excellent question for the E-Sylum - or, you could give Elizabeth Hahn (the ANS' Librarian) a call. I've found her to be very helpful in the past.

Not listed in Davis' American Numismatic Literature.

Anyone got a copy of Remy Bourne's book on numismatic periodicals?

Yes--he lists a 6th issue (Jan. 1878) as well. In his comments, he notes that it's believed to have been published for one year in 12 numbers.
