Franco Harris Autograph Question

Hi! I won an official NFL game ball auto'd by Franco Harris w/ coa. Under his auto he put his number 32. Most of the Franco auto's I've come across don't have his number 32. I was wondering if this changes the value at all? Is there a place to find out what the value is? Thanks!!

ball is worth about $50 or so and the #32 inscription adds no special value IMO

I agree that the number probably doesn't increase the value of the ball. However, I would think you could get more then $50 if it is an official "Duke" ball. The ball itself costs around $80, if it's a authentic Duke. He also charges around $175 to sign balls at shows. I would have to think you could get way more then $50 for it IMHO.

My valuation estimation came strictly from looking at actual eBay completed signed football transactions. There are plenty of unsold/zero bid signed ball examples at the $75 & above price structures...(unknown if they were Duke footballs).

As far as Harris charging around $175 for his signature, tell me one athlete who commands anywhere close to their signing fee in the secondary market????

I am not an auto expert but I will say Mike Tyson signed cards have been selling for much more then his signing fee of $119. Perhaps this changes at some point with either higher signing fees or more signatures out there and lower card prices.

I agree with you 100% that a ball is usually worth nowhere near the players signing fee. However, there are plenty of rc's out there that sell for a premium over the players signing fee(s).
