How long does a reholder take?

EagleEyeEagleEye Posts: 7,677 ✭✭✭✭✭
I sold a PR/MS70 25th set to a forum member around Christmas. Two of the holders got scratched during shipping, so I got them back and gave them to PCGS for reholder at FUN - 1/6/12

The didn't get posted to their system until 1/13/21. They are still not on their system as being completed! 10 business days to reholder a coin! gimme a break!

I always do my reholdering at shows where it is very quick.

If you ship them in they seem to be treated more like economy subs and take a while.

I've had it take over a month.
    When in doubt, don't.

Reholders take a very long time. I save all reholders for show service and have them done on-site. You pay more but there is no shipping involved and you don't have to wait two months.

I took a coin for reholder to one of the PCGS Vegas shows once and they reholdered in in about 30 minutes. Didn't charge me anything extra either and saved me the shipping both ways.

Not sure if that is the standard treatment or if they were just being nice that day...

Admit it, you were flirting with them to get it done image

My submissions from FUN also show 1/13 as the date received, and no other status other than OK.
They must have a backlog ... just guessing though. You can always call them.

I gave PCGS a coin to reholder at FUN on Thursday morning and it was ready by that afternoon.
