Help! Thai Coin identification please

Found this coin (is it a coin or medal?) among the belongings of a friend's relative. I don't know much about it and my friend would like to know about it so any info is appreciated. I know it's from Thailand, other than that, I'm clueless

Pretty sure it's a medal. If the image was larger I could ask my son to translate what it says.

Unfortunately my son was over earlier this evening before the larger images were posted but I'm pretty sure it is a medal for the King's 50th anniv. of his reign.

I'll see if I can email the kid the image.

It's a commemorative medallion commemorating 50 years of the reign of King Rama IX.

It reads approx:

Celebrating monarchy 50 years - golden jubilee - 9th reign

Lower legend reads: 9th June B.E 2539 (1996)
