I hate to say it, but Gary Sheffield was a prince at the White Plains show today

I watched him take pictures, smile and generally enjoy himself.

Personally, I had him auto a Rusty Staub signed ball I already have. On my asking, he wrote: "I joined Cobb & Staub as the only MLBers to hit a HR in teens and 40s"

Goose Gossage was nearby. As was old ex-Met and free auto Jon Matlack.

(Other than that, the show kinda sucked.)

Very cool. I saw them signing but didn't get any auto's. The show was sooooo bad cardwise. Yikes!
  • You mean he wasn't messing up autographs on purpose so he could get out of there early? image

The best pitch to start a hitter off with is always strike one.

Doesn't surprise me at all. Bobby Cox speaks for him. That carries a lot of weight for me.

The prices of cards were high but I was able to find an elusive 2004 Upper Deck Yankee Classis Script card that I needed to almost complete my set. I am down to 5 cards now. That made the 2 hour trek in a snowstorm worth it for me. I also did pick up some common 1950's Yankee cards for my team set collection. I am now down to missing only 12 card to have every Topps card a Yankee is on. Too bad that 6 of them are 52 Topps high numbers.
