Lamar Strickland Gold Medals????

I have been asked by a party that owns several gold medals (religious themes) that she says were made by a Lamar Strickland from, or living in Texas. Probably date to 1970s. She thinks they are marked as 24 carat and have weights slightly over one ounce each stamped on them. Any help, or information would be appreciated.

As an update for Jan 22 posting: Below is one of the several "medals" sold by Strickland. It is cast and my jeweler confirms that it is gold. Has anybody seen one of these before?
