PSA pack turnaround time

Hi All,

I purchased a few packs from the 1977 BBCE case break. I opened one but I'm sending the others to PSA for grading (my first PSA submission). The form says pack turnaround time is approximately 45 days. Is that business days or calendar days?

Thanks. So really more like 2 months.

The ironic thing is the cards came from Steve Hart, got shipped to the customer, gets shipped to PSA, has Steve grade them and then gets shipped back to the customer.

Expect it to take the full 45 days right now. I have had a pack sub in since 12/1 and am still waiting.
  • yes full 45 days... packs must go from you to PSA to Steve (outside Chicago) back to PSA and finally back to you. Steve has reported going to CA when there's lots of packs to grade.

  • I didn't think Steve Grades them just authenticates them.. Am I wrong here?

Wow, 8/9 to 12/2...PSA must be busy!

Yes, Steve only authenticates. The numerical grades are assigned back at PSA.

Do they put the pack series on the label if you request it and they can verify it? I don't recall seeing packs with the series indicated on the label. I guess for multi-series packs, they wouldn't be able to verify that.

Yes, if you indicate the series on the submission form, they will add it to the flip, provided, I assume, that they can verify it, as well. The same rule applies for star packs. If you indicate it on the submission form, they will add the player's name to the slip, as long as they can verify it (for wax packs; cellos are self-evident, of course).

    Actually even crazier than that:
    Cards came from Steve.
    Got shipped to customer.
    Gets shipped to PSA.
PSA ships to Steve and Steve Authenticates.
    Steve ships back to PSA
Then gets shipped back to customer after PSA grades.
    STAY HEALTHY!

I don't understand why PSA doesn't fly Steve out once a month to have him authenticate the packs. You would think it would save money in the long run.

they do... Steve has blogged a few times saying some like flying out to PSA to authenticate. I’d guess it might be quarterly and not every month.
