OT Need some advice.

I am posting htis here because we all use the postal service alot and maybe someone can give me an idea on what to do.

Last summer I bought and antique Kellogg Candlestick telephone from ebay. I wanted to get the phone converted so I could use it in my house. I did some internet searches and came up with this compamy called PhoneVault.com. It had been in business for a while and is run by an elderly husband and wife. It seemed pretty harmless to send them my phone. I mailed it last July to Washington from Virginia. The website says it takes up to 6 weeks to repair. I called in July to verify that they received it. I called 6 weeks in September later and asked the status. They told me they have been busy with relatives and would get to my phone next week. I called again in October and they told me that her husband had been sick but is ok now and they would get my phone fixed right away. I waited another month and I called in November and they still had not fixed my phone so I asked them to just return my phone. After not having received my phone I called again in December and the lady said she would make it her number one priority and get my phone mailed back to me. Again I waited until the beginning of January to call. She promised to mail my phone that week. As difficult as it has been, I have stayed very polite through this ordeal. I really have no idea why they won't fix or return my phone. I have tried to call all week but they are either away or they are not answering my calls. Their names are Bob and Sheri Stritof. What can I do now?

  • Let them know you will be filing in small claims court if the phone isn't returned the day you call.

If they don't return it and provide tracking then go file suit.

Call from a different number so they don't ignore it.

I don't know why you would ship complete out of state strangers items without doing some research first.

For now, I would call and email them every day, and send them a letter.

small claims is probably out of the question
You need to file where THEY live and the distance is far more than its probably worth.
also you can win and most likely still lose.....no enforcement. small claims court sucks

to truely get your money costs a ton more time and yes more money.

I would have to file in their state.

Thought I did do some research first. Seemed like a legit company.

Maybe call the BBB in there state/county/town?

If they are a member that may help.

Sorry this is happening to you.

    Good for you.

I googled their name and they give marriage advice over the internet?

One story claimed they are in DC, other's claim Washington State.

I did not see any links regarding them having to do with repairing things.

    Good for you.

I wasn't disputing your contention, I was simply
stating what I found, hoping it may help you.

We could bombard her with messages?

    Phone is (360) 867-8535

Wonder if she will answer the phone when the area code isn't 703.

This may yield no results, but you could try calling the local PD; you might find a receptive soul who will go knock on their door for you. Probably not, but it might be worth a try.
