Local cardshow pickups today- PSA slabbed rookie autographs

May have found a new card collecting passion. I really like rookie autographs in PSA slabs and bought my first two today.
These two cards from a box called Leaf Inc. You get five slabbed(PSA or JSA) autographs and one cut per box.
The Schmidt was the best rookie autograph he got in his two cases of the product. He has some decent autographs on non-rookies(Maddux, Musial, Stargell).
I paid him $150.00 for the pair.

Buying the actual Leaf Ink and Leaf Rookie Retro boxes will kill you most of the time. Are there nice cards in the boxes? Yes. Does their value equal the box price? Most often, not even close.
<< <i>Buying from people who open the Leaf Ink and the Leaf Rookie Retro boxes is great; they are trying to make money back on the box, so they are willing to sell.

He mentioned he spent $3250.00 for two cases of the product. He said the Schmidt was the second best autograph. I realized real fast he took a bath on those two cases.

I agree with you. You know if I was to ever decide to sell my signed rookie card collection, probably wouldn't be a bad idea to invest $10,000 or so in fancy packaging and a little marketing, and make my own "packs". Insert them all into the nice looking packs and release it as unopened product. Bet it would make a heck of a lot more money than selling them individually. Probably wouldn't be too hard to sell either with a decent reputation and an appearance at The National.
