  • That is by far, the greatest RESEALED PACKS story that I have ever read.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

That brings back a memory for me as well. The only pack I have ever "tampered" with was back in 1975-76 as I was invited to a friends 9th birthday party. We both collected cards and I knew his favorite was OJ Simpson. The new 1975 cards had just been released and I had already spent my meager allowance on a few packs and was lucky enough to pull one. I decided part of his gift should be 3 packs of FB cards so my parents sprung for them. Knowing he was much more into OJ than I was, I figured I'd open the lid to one of the packs and slip in the OJ card so he was sure to get one. I can't even remember how I resealed it (glue??) but when it came time to open his presents at the party he was excited to open the packs. First couple packs yielded the usual no names but the 3rd pack (my resealed effort) revealed an OJ right on top! He was so excited but wouldn't you know it, as he thumbed through the rest of that 3rd pack he hit the exact same OJ card! He talked about that two-OJ pack for years after that and I never told him about my trickery. Every time I see that card it still brings a smile to my face!

I did the same thing with my daughter's softball team in 2009 when I made custom baseball cards of all the girls in the style of 2009 Upper Deck baseball. I bought 15 packs of Upper Deck baseball, pulled apart the pack at the top and slid in a card of each girl in each pack, marked each pack with the initials of each girl and resealed the packs with glue stick. Between games of a double header, I pulled out the packs and asked who wants to open some baseball cards and gave each girl their pack and away they ripped......The funny thing was some of them didn't realize there was a "special" card inside until some of the others found theirs.
