One fugly looking 9!

Fugly

not sure the back is 9 worthy. Either way this looks more like an 8 to me...

I completely agree that the centering is atrocious, but you only need 60/40 to 65/35 centering on the front and 90/10 centering on the back to get a 9. This card is probably right on the cusp as far as centering goes, and it must have gotten the benefit of the doubt.

The pocket where the card sits looks much larger than the micro card itself. Wouldn't that allow the card to slide causing damage?

yeah , at best it needs a insert to hold the card...

PSA does use an insert so the card doesn't slide around in there. I already own one and it has an insert.

Here is the 9 I have and I would say mine is boarder line 9 far as centering on back goes...

<< <i>This ones the worse gem mint Ive seen. More like an 8 >>

Wow that 10 is horrible. Its a sin! I doubt the seller will get what they want for that one.

I have seen worse psa 10s though. About 5 years ago I seen a 1975 Topps Pete Rose PSA 10 that had about 50 fish eyes all over the front of the card in the red and yellow border. Even the seller was beside them self on how it received a gem mint grade. I had a pic of it but lost it 4 viruses ago...
  • That Canseco is horrible.

There's no sense in the way cards get graded sometimes. I pulled an '83 Topps Gwynn out of a pack from BBCE. It was absolutely beautiful. I honestly couldn't find a thing wrong with it. I submitted it to PSA and got a 4.

I've submitted some '86 Fleer mini's with perfect centering and no edge chipping
and never could get a 10 on any of them. That Canseco mini looks like a 8 to me. Terrible.

That micro Jeter looks like a slider too, but I bet it's centering falls within PSA's
grading guidelines even though the eye appeal doesn't.
  • That Canseco was just sold for $127.01. The original price was $199.99. Looks like some messaged the seller to make an offer and the seller accepted and lowered it by doing 20% off. Smart move by the seller Id say because I wouldn't even of expected it to get sold for as much as it did. As someone on this board always says - buy the card, not the holder. Looks like someone did just the opposite.
