USPS Changes- Free DC on 1st Class

Along with some rate changes, I noticed this:

FREE Delivery Confirmation for First-Class Mail with eBay Label Printing
As a part of the January 22 rate update, USPS will begin extending FREE Delivery ConfirmationTM to First-Class Mail®. So if the cost of Delivery Confirmation was holding you back from using eBay Labels, now’s the time to get started. With eBay Labels you can purchase discounted postage, prepare multiple shipments, and print up to 50 USPS shipping labels at one time—all automatically prefilled with your buyer’s name and address. Most important, your USPS shipment tracking information is automatically uploaded to My eBay and emailed to your buyer. Uploading tracking is required to qualify for automatic 5-star ratings for fast shipping.

This isn't a huge thing, but it will save .19 for each package sent via Ebay online shipping. This should cover small items, graded and raw cards etc;

Just thought I'd pass this along in case anyone hadn't seen it yet.

    Happy to see that! First class is about as fast as Priority, so I am going to use it more for small items.

  • Good, I can save $.18 per package.

    What is next, Ebay raising their fees by $.18 per auction? After all the money does not belong to us!!!

    I was pleasantly surprised by that email this morning. I looked at it as it offsets the small USPS increase, and then some.

    << <i>You better hope a USPS employee scans it into the system upon drop off or you will not be protected. I would rather pay $1 or so, witness and have a receipt with the tracking # before departing the PO. >>

    This really gains you nothing because if the item still doesn't show a delivery scan your tracking # is worthless. I could care less if it is scanned on my end, I only care if it is scanned on the receiving end.

    Every package I ship has an acceptance scan done in person at my post office. I've made it habit to have this done so the buyer can follow the packages progress along to delivery.
