Friday Fun Coin Day! Picture Show and Tell.

Postman was kind today. Five packages arrived, each with a little story to tell.
First up, a coin I've been searching for quite a while. I love the 1899-P dated Morgan and wanted one in lower, problem free condition.
Once availed itself on eBay with a BIN and I snatched it up! (Subsequent thread inquiring the difficulty of dates in worn condition provided me with some answers as to why these are somewhat scarce.)

Next up is a fun little coin I found, again on eBay, with a BIN of $9.00. It was being offered by (one of the) largest Cameo dealers in the nation and generally his wares are expensive.
In fact, this one arrived with delivery confirmation and insurance that set
back the dealer $4.31. Couple that with the eBay & Paypal fees and I wonder why it was even listed at all?

Third in line is a pastel toned, lustrous silver Eagle offered by a board member. I had started a thread regarding the pricing of these PCI silver eagles and a PM suggested
I purchase this one at half what I was willing to pay on eBay-
and this one appears to be possibly even nicer (especially in the luster department):

Here is a coin I didn't expect to see again. I had sold it on eBay and the buyer asked if he could return it. Of course! In fact, out of about a dozen or so coins I sold this is one
I regretted letting go.
It's my first return in a few months and I was happy to have it arrive today. Instead of relisting it I'm just going to keep it this time:

The following was a coin I was surprised hadn't been picked off (eBay again) as it was being offered at under $200.
I am just as pleased with it in hand as I was hoping to be. Wrong holder, I suppose, but the coin is right.

Lastly, via the generosity of a board member here, due to a response I had with a thread he started, I was sent, out of the blue, this silver Eagle. What a charmer it is!
I have a spot in my Dansco type set this one will fit in. I'd name him, but don't want to embarrass him.

So again, a fun coin day all in!

Because it was graded mid-year, 1998 with PCI.

Cool overdate Mercury! That is one heck of a score.
I think LordM had a similar discovery.

<< <i>Nice coins, but now I have a crick in my neck from viewing the pictures >>
Sorry about that! Yeah, when I take quickie photos like this I use my office desk and a single lamp. If the coins are straight on I get light bulb glare.
I use a different, three light process set-up for auction photos.

<< <i>OK here's a story. I bought small bag of circulated Mercury dimes. Threw it back and didn't even think about it for a few months. One day I decided to look through all my accumulated 90% stuff. I found this:

That is so cool, my dad brought home a new redbook in 1966 and I used to
dream about finding one of those from change at age 7
