I had been watching this one and decided to take a snipe-shot, been passively looking for nice detail. this coin looked like it had everything I was looking for in a lowball example.

I got my snipe in last, but it didn't exceed some megabuyers 1 second earlier snipe. oh well. I didn't feel it was worth making a higher bid so I guess I can't complain too much.

It does have fairly smooth surfaces and good detail for a "lowball" Fugio.

On a side note, holed colonials for some reason have drastically (relatively speaking) increased in price the last few years. The reason for this is that (no joke) some die variety collectors are now trying to collect a holed example of every die variety they can get while they are waiting for their tough to fill holes in their collections. I know this sounds a bit strange, but I guess whatever floats your boat. There are more than a few doing this, and as such holed colonials are on the upswing. I recently saw a $20 porous AG3 NJ copper sell for $61 on eBay presumably because it had a hole. With that selling for $61, makes the Fugio look like a major bargain.

I even have a very good customer who has a whole bunch of holed colonials hanging from string on his rearview mirror in his car.

just tell yourself that you didnt want it anyway because it's a New Haven restrike (it's not of course, but you can TELL yourself that!)

A clip is a different story. Clips on NJs (and most colonials) are quite scarce in general. $50 for a clipped NJ seems like a good deal

Holed coins / Genuine / Damaged Goods are NOT for me. Save up a little more cash and get a nice problem free example. That would be my approach.
